Bandits Kidnap 8 in Kano Village Attack

Midnight Terror in Kano Village

Armed bandits unleashed terror on Biresawa village in Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State, abducting at least eight residents during a late-night raid. The attack occurred between 11 PM and midnight on Monday, November 24, sending shockwaves through the rural community.

Details of the Attack

According to local sources, the assailants stormed the village on foot, heavily armed with firearms. Two male and six female victims were forcibly taken from their homes during the coordinated attack. The bandits entered through the neighboring Tsundu village before descending upon Biresawa.

One of the affected relatives, Kabiru Usman, provided harrowing details about the incident. "They came on foot, armed with guns," Usman recounted. "They kidnapped my wife, Umma; my 17-year-old daughter, Fati; my brother's wife, and two other women. We tried to stop them, but our weapons were no match for them as they were carrying guns."

Security Alert Ignored

In a disturbing revelation, residents disclosed that they had received prior warnings about the bandits' movement toward their village. Community members immediately alerted security agencies, including both police and military forces, using contact numbers provided specifically for such emergencies.

"Before the attack occurred, we got a report that they were heading towards us," confirmed a resident. "We notified the security agencies, including the police and military, ahead of time because they gave us their numbers and asked us to call if we got any information."

Despite these proactive measures, the security response failed to prevent the kidnapping. As of the latest reports, the whereabouts of all eight victims remain unknown, leaving families in anguish and the community living in fear.

The incident highlights the growing security challenges facing rural communities in northern Nigeria, where bandit activities continue to threaten the safety and wellbeing of residents despite repeated assurances of improved security measures.
