Bandits Kidnap Mother and Six Children in Kaduna Community Attack
In a distressing incident, bandits have abducted a mother and her six children in the Kurmin-Uwa area near Janjala community, located within Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State. This latest abduction occurred barely 24 hours after bandits kidnapped seven family members and three other individuals in Unguwar Sabon-Titi, Kachia LGA of the same state, highlighting a concerning pattern of attacks in the region.
Details of the Abduction
A resident of Kagarko town, Ibrahim Shehu, confirmed the abduction to Daily Trust, stating that the incident took place around 10:23 pm on Friday. According to Shehu, when the bandits arrived in the community, they went directly to their target house and whisked away seven people. The abducted victims have been identified as Ladi Malachy, Patience Malachy, Promise Malachy, Inama Malachy, Peter Malachy, and Aboyi Malachy, comprising the mother and her six children.
Community Response and Security Concerns
A community leader, who preferred to remain anonymous, also confirmed the abduction. He reported that he alerted security operatives after receiving information about the bandits' invasion into the community, which is approximately 2 kilometers away from Kagarko town. "I received a distress call that bandits had invaded Kurmin-Uwa village, I quickly alerted the security operatives, but I don’t know if they later responded," he said.
The community leader expressed concern over the continuous bandit attacks on several villages under Kagarko LGA, noting that contact has yet to be established with the abductors. This incident underscores the ongoing security challenges in Kaduna State, where such abductions have become increasingly frequent, causing fear and instability among residents.
Local authorities and security forces are urged to intensify efforts to combat banditry and ensure the safe return of the victims, as communities grapple with the threat of further attacks.
