Nigerian Army Denies Alleged Attack on Bishop Kukah's Residence and Sokoto Cathedral
The Nigerian Army has firmly dismissed as false and misleading reports circulating on social media that alleged an armed attack on the residence of Bishop Matthew Kukah and the Sokoto Catholic Cathedral. In a statement issued by the spokesperson of Operation Fansan Yamma, Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, the military categorically debunked these claims, emphasizing that no such incident occurred in Sokoto State.
Official Statement and Reassurance of Safety
Colonel Osoba clarified that the reports, which were shared on platforms like Facebook, are entirely unfounded. He assured the public that Bishop Kukah and the cathedral remain safe and secure, with the bishop currently carrying out his Easter activities without any disruption. "There was no attack in Sokoto State. The safety and security of Bishop Matthew Kukah and the Sokoto Catholic Cathedral remain intact," the statement affirmed.

The Army further reaffirmed its dedication to safeguarding lives and property across its area of responsibility, highlighting ongoing collaboration with other security agencies.
