The Gombe State Government officially confirmed the unfortunate death of the recruit in a statement released on Thursday, January 22, 2026. The announcement was made by Ambassador Yusuf Danbayo, who serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security Matters and Intergovernmental Affairs. According to the detailed statement, Nazifi succumbed to a brief illness while at the training facility in Zaria.
Danbayo provided specific identification details, noting that the deceased was a native of Buba Bani Village in Kashere Ward of Akko Local Government Area. His application number was recorded as 90RRI-GO-9017726, confirming his status as a recruit in the ongoing training program.
