A young woman from Cameroon who entered the United States by crossing through Mexico has shared her harrowing experience after being apprehended by border patrol. She detailed her ordeal in a recent TikTok video, revealing that what she thought would be a dream come true turned into a nightmare.
Journey Through Mexico
The woman, who goes by @berti.brownn on TikTok, said she left Cameroon three years ago with hopes of building a better life in America. She traveled through Mexico, facing moments of fear and uncertainty. "I experienced things I never imagined I would experience in my life. There were moments of fear and uncertainty. I would cry and ask myself if this was the worst decision I had made in my life, but I kept pushing because I felt what was waiting for me in America was better than what I was experiencing," she recounted.
Apprehension and Detention
After finally reaching the US, she was apprehended by border patrol. "I thought that was the beginning of my success, but I never knew it was the beginning of my nightmare," she said. She was detained for over three years in prison before being deported back to Cameroon.
Deportation and Return
"I was deported from America after spending 3 years in prison. 3 years ago, I left Cameroon with a dream and a hope of building my life in America. I said goodbye to my friends, to my loved ones and family, and I never knew when I would see them again," she shared. She now speaks about her return and how she is coping with the experience.
