Cleric Warns on Insecurity, Urges Govt to Act Now

A Port Harcourt-based cleric, Pastor Mark Miracle, has expressed deep concern over the country's worsening insecurity, calling on both the Federal and State governments to take decisive action and responsibility to address the challenge.

Cleric Speaks at Birthday, Book Launch

Miracle spoke at his 37th birthday celebration and the launch of his book, Birthing A New Identity, held at Prestige Gospel Centre in Port Harcourt. He said the security crisis is affecting growth, investment, and the lives of Nigerians.

“I am worried about the situation in Nigeria. People no longer feel safe and now feel like strangers in their own land,” he said.

Call for Government Action

The cleric urged the government to stop shifting blame and focus on solving the problem. “This government should take responsibility and act. History will remember leaders who rise to the occasion,” he added.

He noted that many Nigerians no longer feel safe in their own farms, homes, or even places of worship, describing the situation as troubling.

Advice on 2027 Elections

Regarding the 2027 general elections, the cleric advised Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the electoral process. “The only prophecy we need is to go out and vote for the right leaders,” he said.

Reflections on Ministry

Reflecting on his journey in ministry, Miracle gave credit to God and cautioned fellow pastors against seeking power through questionable means. He expressed gratitude for reaching the milestone.

The book reviewer, Wealth Didia, said the publication focuses on helping people rediscover their identity and live with purpose. According to him, the book highlights factors that shape identity, including background, associations, and belief systems.

Community Outreach

The event also featured the distribution of gifts and items to widows in the church and the nearby community. Clerics, professionals, and other guests attended and shared goodwill messages with the celebrant.
