The General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, strongly condemned the life-threatening act of driving against traffic. He described it as a conscious act of lethal negligence that is tantamount to attempted manslaughter.

Bakare-Oki emphasized that driving on a one-way is as deadly as wielding a weapon, stating that any motorist who willfully violates this restriction is not just breaking the law but deliberately endangering innocent lives. He reaffirmed the Lagos State Government's commitment to enforcing traffic laws impartially and promised that habitual violators would face the full wrath of the law as a deterrent.

The General Manager also commended his officers for their bravery and professionalism, which averted a potential fatality. He extended his heartfelt wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured Korope bus driver.
