Fatal Crash at Nancy-Essey Airfield
A civilian aircraft carrying skydivers crashed in Tomblaine, eastern France, on Sunday, June 28, 2026, killing all 11 people on board. The plane, which had taken off from Nancy-Essey airfield, was operated by a parachutist school. Local authorities confirmed that the pilot and 10 passengers—comprising five students and five instructors—died in the incident.

Yves Seguy, the prefect of the eastern department of Meurthe-et-Moselle, stated that no bystanders were injured in the crash. Relatives of the victims were present at the airfield at the time of the tragedy, according to local officials. The French interior minister was en route to the scene as investigations began.
