Iran's parliament is allegedly discussing a proposal to place a €50 million bounty on the heads of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to reports, the legislative body is set to vote on a bill that would offer the reward to anyone who assassinates either leader. This move is being considered as revenge for the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, in US-Israel strikes at the onset of the current conflict.
Details of the Proposed Bill
The chairman of Iran's national security commission, Ebrahim Azizi, stated that parliament is drafting a bill titled 'Reciprocal action by military and security forces of the Islamic Republic.' He was quoted by Iranian state television as saying, 'As Trump ordered the killing of Ali Khamenei, he himself should be dealt with by every Muslim and every free person.'
Reactions from Iranian Officials
Another member of the national security commission, Mahmood Nabavian, announced the imminent vote, boasting that the reward would be for sending 'Mr Trump and Netanyahu to hell.' He added, 'Threats against the Supreme Leader and military commanders have again been heard from the filthy mouths of some enemy officials. The vile American and Zionist officials, as well as the heads of regional countries, should know that if any aggression takes place this time, we will destroy them along with their palaces.'
Trump's Previous Warning
Former President Trump had previously warned that any attempt by Iran to target him would prompt 'very strict orders' to 'wipe them off the face of the Earth.'
Recent US-Iran Tensions
Meanwhile, a 'full-scale' American attack on Iran, reportedly planned for today, was narrowly averted after Trump changed his mind at the last minute. He called off US forces following personal pleas from Middle Eastern leaders to give negotiations on a nuclear deal another chance.
