Boko Haram Attack in Borno: Two Abducted, Police Repel Invasion
Terrorists Attack Borno Community, Abduct Two Residents

In a late-night assault, suspected Boko Haram terrorists launched a coordinated attack on the Malari community in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, resulting in the abduction of two residents.

Details of the Midnight Assault

The attackers, arriving on motorcycles, struck the community at around 12 am on Monday, December 1, 2025. The raid lasted approximately 30 minutes before security forces intervened. According to the Borno State Police Command, its crack team engaged the insurgents, preventing them from completely overrunning the town.

Police Confirmation and Community Response

The Police Public Relations Officer for Borno Command, Nahum Daso, confirmed the incident. He praised the police operatives for their swift response. "The police crack team did a good work by preventing them from invading the town," Daso stated. He confirmed that two men were abducted and noted that a comprehensive report would be released after further findings.

No police officer was injured or killed during the exchange of gunfire with the insurgents, according to the official account. However, local residents described a scene of panic, with many fleeing their homes before security teams arrived.

Unverified Reports and Lingering Fear

A community source suggested the number of abductees might be higher than two. "From the information currently circulating in town, more than two persons were kidnapped because while disembarking, they passed through residential homes," the source revealed, though this remains unverified by authorities.

This attack underscores the persistent security challenges in parts of Borno State, despite ongoing counter-insurgency operations. The ability of the assailants to operate for half an hour highlights the continued threat faced by communities in the region.
