Joshua Returns to Boxing After Tragic Crash Killed Two Friends

British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua has spoken openly about his return to the ring following the tragic car crash that killed two of his closest friends, Sina Ghami and Latif 'Latz' Ayodele. Ahead of his comeback fight against Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia, Joshua revealed that quitting boxing never crossed his mind because the sport gives him purpose and direction.

Focus on the Pain of the Families

Reflecting on the loss, the former heavyweight champion said he chose to focus on the pain the families of his friends were experiencing rather than his own grief. 'Everyone grieves differently,' Joshua noted, emphasizing that his way of coping was to channel his energy into training and his upcoming fight.

Training with Usyk's Team Strengthened Faith

Joshua also revealed that training with Oleksandr Usyk's team strengthened both his work ethic and his faith. He said one of the biggest lessons he learned during that period was the importance of prayer. The 36-year-old boxer will return to action this weekend, marking his first fight since the tragic accident and the start of what he hopes will be a new chapter in his career.
