DOAMF's 15th Annual Charity Golf Tournament Set for April in Lagos
The Daniel Ogechi Akujobi Memorial Foundation (DOAMF) is gearing up to host the 15th edition of its annual Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, April 18, 2026. The event will take place at the Golf Section of Ikoyi Club in Lagos, marking a significant milestone in the foundation's ongoing efforts to support underserved communities and the less privileged.
Foundation's Impact and Mission
Since its inception, DOAMF has made a profound impact, touching over 95,000 lives through its dedicated programs. The foundation is committed to providing essential health care and education services to those in need, with a focus on creating sustainable change. Its objectives are achieved through a variety of initiatives, including free medical outreach, scholarship awards for indigent but intelligent students up to the tertiary level, and mentorship programs in schools.
Additionally, DOAMF facilitates educational and skill acquisition programs, equips school libraries and sick bays, and donates welfare materials to improve the quality of life for beneficiaries. These efforts are designed to put smiles on the faces of those they serve, as highlighted by the foundation's Media Liaison Officer, Bukunmi Osunsina.
Fundraising and Sponsorship
The Charity Golf Tournament is a key fundraising event held yearly to generate funds for the execution of DOAMF's programs. Osunsina emphasized that the donations and support from corporate and individual sponsors have been instrumental in enabling the foundation to touch lives and make a difference. She noted that the organizing committee, composed of passionate golfers from the corporate world, has invested significantly in this year's edition to maintain a tradition of excellence and ensure a unique tournament day experience.
"They also hope that every participating golfer, as well as sponsors and partners, will have a wonderful and fun experience," Osunsina said, underscoring the event's dual focus on philanthropy and enjoyment.
Tournament Details and Qualifier
In preparation for the main event, a qualifier for the tournament will be held at the same venue on Saturday, April 4. This preliminary round allows golfers to compete for a spot in the main tournament, adding an element of excitement and competition to the fundraising efforts. The qualifier is expected to draw participants from across the region, further amplifying the foundation's reach and impact.
The 15th annual Charity Golf Tournament by DOAMF represents a continued commitment to leveraging sports for social good, bringing together the golfing community to support vital health and education initiatives in Nigeria.
