A young man named Salisu Muhammed tragically passed away after collapsing during a morning football training session at the Massalacin Edi football field in the Alikazaure community of Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau state, on Monday, June 8.
Incident Details
According to reports, Muhammed was actively participating in a training exercise on the pitch with his teammates when he suddenly slumped and lost consciousness. His fellow players and coach immediately sprang into action, rushing him to a nearby hospital for emergency medical attention.
However, upon arrival at the medical facility, doctors examined him and sadly confirmed that he had passed away.
Background of the Deceased
The deceased, who resided in the Anguwan Rogo community, leaves behind his parents, a wife, and four children. His sudden demise has left his family and the local community in deep mourning.
Following Islamic rites, Muhammed has since been buried at the Babale Cemetery in Jos. The incident has sparked conversations about the importance of health checks for athletes, especially during rigorous training sessions.
