The African chapter of the Professional Fighters League (PFL) is set to launch its highly anticipated 2026 season with a major mixed martial arts event, dubbed 'Fight Night,' scheduled for April 10, 2026. The event will take place at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa, marking a significant milestone for the promotion's expansion across the continent.
Third South African Event and New Format
This event represents the third time the Professional Fighters League has staged a fight card in South Africa, building on successful previous outings in Cape Town and Johannesburg during the 2025 season. Organizers have revealed that the 2026 season introduces an exciting new format, which will see three championship belts contested across three different divisions. Additionally, each tournament winner will continue to receive the prestigious $100,000 grand prize, maintaining the league's commitment to rewarding top-tier athletic performance.
Post-Ngannou Era and Independent Roadmap
The upcoming fight night holds particular significance as it will be the first event since former heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou stepped down from his role as Chairman of PFL Africa.
