Following the conclusion of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, Remo Stars will now compete in the Nigeria National League for the next season. In a statement on Monday, the club said the outcome is heartbreaking for their supporters, players, staff, management, and the entire Remo Stars family, who have invested their emotions, energy, and belief in this journey.
Club Accepts Responsibility
“We understand the disappointment and frustration this season has brought. The expectations attached to this club were high, and rightfully so. Unfortunately, we did not deliver the performances or consistency required to maintain our place in the division. We take full responsibility for that failure,” Remo Stars said.
The club, however, reiterated their commitment to being one built on vision, ambition, hard work, and the unwavering spirit of their community.
Gratitude to Fans
“To our fans who filled the stands, supported the team online, and stood by us even during our darkest moments: thank you. Your loyalty means everything, and we recognize that we owe you much more than what this season produced.”
The club have now turned their focus toward rebuilding with purpose and determination, stating that important decisions will be made, and every effort will be directed toward returning this club to where it belongs.
Remo Stars join Shooting Stars and Bayelsa United as clubs that suffered relegation while defending the NPFL title.
