A tragic incident occurred in Jos North, Plateau State, where a young man named Salisu Muhammed collapsed and died during a morning football training session. The event took place at the Massalacin Edi football field in the Alikazaure community, leaving teammates and residents in shock.
Details of the Incident
The training session, held early Monday morning, was abruptly halted when Muhammed suddenly slumped on the pitch. According to his teammate Abba Abdullahi, who spoke to Dailytrust, Muhammed was actively participating when he collapsed. Abdullahi stated, "It was a shocking death. He was playing football when he suddenly slumped. He was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead."
Community Mourning and Burial
Muhammed, popularly known as Achilata, was a resident of the Anguwan Rogo community. He is survived by his parents, wife, and four children. His burial took place at Babale Cemetery in Jos, following Islamic rites. Friends and sympathizers described him as humble, tolerant, and respectful, praying for his forgiveness and entry into Jannatul Firdaus.
