The Lagos State Sports Commission is set to host its annual swimming trials on March 22, 2026, at the Rowe Park Sports Complex in Yaba, Lagos. This event aims to identify and empower a new generation of young swimming talents who will represent the state in upcoming national and international competitions. The trials are open to all active male and female swimmers aged 16 and under, attracting participants from clubs, schools, and training centers across Lagos.

Building a Strong Foundation for Sports Development

They reflect the commission's commitment to building a robust foundation for sports development through structured competitions and consistent athlete identification. Fatodu stated, "These trials go beyond a selection process. They reflect our commitment to discovering and nurturing young talents who will carry the banner of Lagos with pride in national and international competitions." He added that Lagos remains dedicated to nurturing young talents and creating opportunities within a well-organized sporting system.

Fatodu also acknowledged the strong support from Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, whose administration has continued to invest in sports development and youth engagement across the state. This backing underscores the government's commitment to fostering athletic excellence and community involvement.
