Nigeria Not Included; Strict Visa Rules Apply

For Nigerians, the Macao SAR maintains a highly strict policy. Nigeria is not included on the visa-free list. Standard Nigerian passport holders are strictly required to apply for a Macao visa in advance through a Chinese embassy or consulate in their home country before initiating their journey.

Broader Context: Global Visa-Free Access

The Macao SAR, an autonomous region in South China and one of the wealthiest territories in the world, released the updated guidelines through its Public Security Police Force. The official directory outlines all 88 countries whose nationals are exempt from holding a visa or an entry permit (visa on arrival) before travelling to Macao.

In related travel news, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has also published an official list of countries eligible for a 90-day visa on arrival, including several African and European nations.
