Mouka Welcomes 71 New Year Babies Across Nigeria with Dreamtime Mattresses
Mouka Gifts 71 New Year Babies in 15 States

As the first moments of 2026 unfolded, leading Nigerian bedding manufacturer Mouka launched a nationwide celebration of new life, gifting hundreds of families and their newborn babies. The company's heartwarming New Year initiative saw it partner with public hospitals across 15 states to honour infants born at the dawn of the year, reinforcing its commitment to quality sleep from the very first day.

A Nationwide Celebration of New Beginnings

The brand's teams visited healthcare facilities from Lagos to Kano, spreading joy to families who welcomed their children on New Year's Day. In total, 71 precious babies were celebrated under this initiative. Each gift package was carefully curated, featuring the innovative Mouka Dreamtime Baby Mattress, designed for infant comfort and support, alongside pillows, toys, and essential baby skincare products.

This tradition underscores Mouka's core mission of promoting healthy sleep habits. The company believes that a foundation of good sleep is critical for early physical and cognitive development, a principle embedded in the design of their specialised baby products.

Lagos First Lady Joins Mouka for Special Hospital Visits

In Lagos, the celebration gained significant prominence through a collaboration with the state's First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu. Together, they visited three major general hospitals to personally congratulate the new parents.

The tour included stops at General Hospital Ibeju-Lekki, General Hospital Gbagada, and General Hospital Imota. At Gbagada, the first baby of the year was a girl delivered exactly at midnight to Mr. and Mrs. Daramola. Simultaneously, at Ibeju-Lekki, a baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Mayowa as the clock struck twelve, marking a doubly joyous start to the year.

Leadership Highlights Commitment to Infant Wellbeing

Mouka's Managing Director, Mr. Femi Fapohunda, passionately explained the thinking behind the annual gesture. He stated that as champions of quality sleep, the company is dedicated to fostering excellent sleep practices from infancy.

"Our Dreamtime mattress is specially crafted to ensure optimal physical and cognitive development for children," Fapohunda said. He highlighted key features of the product, noting it is both water-resistant and breathable to maintain a comfortable and hygienic sleep environment for babies.

The joy of the initiative was not confined to Lagos. In Niger State, for instance, the first baby at General Hospital Minna was born to Mr. & Mrs. Rahma at 1:42 a.m., followed shortly after by baby Jafar at 2:06 a.m., with both families receiving Mouka's celebratory gifts.

Parents across the participating states expressed profound gratitude for the company's generosity. This initiative reflects Mouka's 66-year legacy as a provider of trusted sleep solutions in Nigeria, a range that includes everything from orthopaedic mattresses for adults to the premium baby mattresses gifted in this programme.
