The Federal Government has taken a major step to leverage the influence of digital creators in educating Nigerians about upcoming fiscal changes. Through the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reform, chaired by Taiwo Oyedele, the government has selected the top 20 content creators for a special training programme on the nation's new tax laws.

Training Objectives and Next Steps for Implementation
The core objective of the dedicated training sessions is to equip these influencers with a deeper, practical understanding of Nigeria's new tax laws. This knowledge is intended to help them provide clearer, more balanced, and insightful guidance to their millions of followers, combating misinformation.
The selected creators have been asked to confirm their participation by submitting a designated form before Monday, 8 December 2025. They are also to indicate specific topics they wish the training to cover, ensuring the programme addresses real-world concerns.
This innovative move follows President Bola Tinubu's signing of four key tax reform bills into law in June 2025. The new Tax Act 2025 is set to take effect from 1 January 2026, introducing significant changes to how income, including salaries, bonuses, and allowances, is taxed.
Key provisions of the new law include an exemption for salary earners with an annual income below N800,000, as well as for military personnel. The law also clarifies allowable deductions and mandates that self-employed individuals maintain proper financial records.
By partnering with trusted digital voices, the government aims to foster a smoother transition and wider public acceptance of these critical fiscal reforms.
