Pastor Enenche Denies Using Church Funds for Lifestyle: "Never Touched Cheque Book"
Pastor Enenche Denies Using Church Money for Personal Life

Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has issued a strong rebuttal to widespread allegations that he finances his personal lifestyle with money belonging to the church. The cleric addressed the claims directly during a recent sermon, a video of which has gone viral on social media platforms.

"Mumu-ishness of Sense": Enenche's Blunt Rejection of Claims

In the widely circulated video, Pastor Enenche did not mince words in dismissing the accusations. He described the notion that his suits, watches, or other personal items were bought with church offerings as what he termed "mumu-ishness of sense." He used the opportunity to provide an unprecedented look into the financial operations of his ministry, which he leads alongside his wife, Dr. Becky Enenche.

The core of his defense centered on access to the church's finances. "From day one till now, church cheque book is not in our possession," he stated categorically. He emphasized that this policy applied not only to him but also to his immediate family, ensuring a clear separation between ministry funds and personal use.

Detailing the Sources of Personal Income

Enenche further elaborated to clarify potential misunderstandings. He explained that proceeds from the sale of church materials such as his authored devotional books, CDs, and other publications are also kept separate. According to him, not a single naira from these sales has ever been used for personal clothing or accessories.

"Not one naira of it has been used to buy a tie or socks; how much more church offering?" he questioned rhetorically. Instead, the pastor attributed the meeting of his needs to divine providence and insisted his life is not defined by material pursuits. To illustrate his point, he revealed that he had once given away over 200 suits in a single day and that many gifted items, including shoes, remain unused or have been passed on to others.

Mixed Reactions and a Call to Spiritual Focus

The pastor's detailed explanation has sparked a wave of mixed reactions online. While many of his congregants and supporters have praised his transparency and integrity, other social media users have expressed skepticism, questioning the practicality and veracity of his claims regarding the cheque book and financial flows.

Concluding his address, Pastor Enenche shifted from defense to admonition. He urged believers to prioritize spiritual wealth over material accumulation. "Let's stop living for things and start living for God and the kingdom. When you do, the things people are chasing will start chasing you," he advised. His message, delivered on January 5, 2026, continues to generate significant discussion both within and outside the Christian community in Nigeria.
