Apostle Chikere's Estranged Husband Alleges UK Insurance Fraud, Shares Details
Apostle Chikere's Ex-Husband Alleges UK Insurance Fraud

The ongoing public feud between popular female cleric Apostle Chikere Nwafor and her estranged husband, Pastor Martin Ugbulu, has taken a dramatic new turn with fresh allegations of fraudulent activity in the United Kingdom.

New Allegations of UK Insurance Scam Surface

In a recent development reported by Sahara Reporters, Pastor Martin Ugbulu has leveled serious accusations against the founder of Heaven’s Gateway Ministries. He claims that Apostle Chikere Nwafor shipped a Lexus RX450h from the UK to Nigeria, falsely reported the vehicle as stolen to authorities, and subsequently collected an insurance payout of £17,000.

Ugbulu provided a detailed account, stating he first noticed the vehicle was missing from its parking spot. When he alerted Nwafor, she reportedly informed him that her cousin had taken it. The situation escalated, according to Ugbulu, when Nwafor later sought his assistance, warning him that the UK insurance company might contact him for verification.

The estranged husband alleges that Nwafor successfully received the insurance money and that the supposedly stolen Lexus was later brought into Nigeria. He further claims to have been shown photographs as evidence of the car's location within the country.

Background: A War of Words and Leaked Audio

This new allegation comes in the wake of a previously leaked audio recording that went viral. In that audio, Ugbulu was allegedly heard with another clergy member discussing Nwafor's purported extramarital affairs. The leaked audio placed the female apostle at the center of a major scandal.

In response, Apostle Chikere Nwafor released a video statement on January 9, 2026, vehemently denying the infidelity claims. She framed the allegations as retaliation for her decision to leave the marriage and spoke out about what she described as years of abuse and threats directed at her and her church members.

Ugbulu's latest claims suggest a pattern of deceptive behavior, extending the conflict beyond personal marital issues into the realm of alleged criminal fraud.

Additional Claim: Arrest of Church Caretaker

In the same report, Pastor Ugbulu made another allegation concerning the church's internal affairs. He claimed that Nwafor had a church caretaker, Mr. Alfred Morris Oyawari, arrested over allegedly missing church materials.

According to Ugbulu, the caretaker, who was earning a monthly salary of N40,000, was detained at Ikoyi Prison. His family was allegedly compelled to sign an undertaking before he was eventually released.

Public reaction to these new allegations has been swift and divided. Comments on social media reflect a range of opinions, from sympathy to condemnation.

One user, @entertainmentgistupdate, commented, "This is just an absolute sign that the husband is a bitter man." Another, @ruke_reigns, connected the allegation to a broader pattern, stating, "This scam has been on since especially US and Canada Nigerians de run am steady and it needs to stop."

A more critical perspective came from @goteborgaren1, who wrote, "This is how they did with welfare benefits in the UK and US. Continuously gaming the system... Reason I never step my foot in a Naija church. Nigerians do not believe stealing is wrong, yet they want their politicians to be accountable."

The saga continues to unfold publicly, with both parties using media platforms to accuse and defend, leaving their followers and the general public to piece together the truth from the escalating claims and counterclaims.
