Juma Jux Reveals He Didn't Know Priscilla Ojo Was Famous When They Met in Rwanda
Juma Jux: I Met Priscilla Ojo, Not Knowing She Was a Celebrity

Tanzanian Bongo Flava star Juma Jux has shared a surprising detail about the beginning of his romance with his now-wife, Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo. In a recent interview, he revealed that their initial meeting was completely devoid of any awareness of her public profile or famous family background.

A Chance Encounter in Rwanda

Jux explained that he first crossed paths with Priscilla, popularly known as Priscy, during a trip to Rwanda. The meeting was facilitated by mutual friends and unfolded in a very organic manner. The singer swore he had no prior knowledge of her status as a social media influencer or her lineage as the daughter of renowned Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo.

"I met her in Rwanda. I didn't know she was a celebrity. I swear to God," Jux stated emphatically during his appearance on the Yanga show. His first impression was purely personal. He simply noticed a beautiful woman who was in the company of Nigerian businesswoman Chioma Ikokwu. "I saw a beautiful girl," he recounted, noting that the attraction was immediate.

Their first conversation solidified his feelings. "When we had a conversation, everything is a wow, she's the one," Jux added, describing a connection that felt genuine and untainted by external fame.

The Late Discovery of Fame and Public Reaction

Juma Jux admitted that Priscilla Ojo's significant online following only became apparent to him later in their relationship. He noticed she had around one or two million followers on Instagram at the time, a figure he attributed to her looks rather than celebrity status. "Beautiful girls on social media can have a lot of followers, so I felt she got her followers because of her looks," he explained.

The true scale of her public profile hit when photos of the couple from a trip to Zanzibar began circulating online. Nigerian blogs picked up the story, revealing her identity as a top influencer and Iyabo Ojo's daughter. This revelation brought their relationship into the limelight.

The interview sparked a lively debate among Nigerian netizens regarding Priscilla's celebrity status. While some argued that her fame is derivative of her mother's, others pointed to her substantial social media reach and endorsement deals as proof of her own influence.

Impact on Career and Growing Family

When questioned about how his relationship with Priscy and her mother has affected his career, Jux gave a moderate assessment. He rated the impact as a "six, seven" out of ten, noting that he already had a solid fanbase in East Africa and some recognition in Nigeria. "Now it's even more and more because of me and Priscy being together," he acknowledged.

He also credited Chioma Ikokwu for playing a key role in the early days of their courtship by encouraging them to spend time together. The couple, who tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in April 2025, have since welcomed their first child. In August 2025, Iyabo Ojo announced the birth of a son in Canada, joyfully declaring herself the "latest grandma."

Juma Jux's candid revelation paints a picture of a love story that began authentically, away from the glare of social media metrics and family legacies, before navigating the complexities that come with a high-profile union.
