Nigerian music label Chocolate City has made serious allegations against popular rapper Odumodublvck, accusing him of a physical assault on a staff member. The label claims the unprovoked attack happened backstage at a major concert in Lagos and is connected to the artist's long-running feud with fellow rapper Blaqbonez.
Details of the Alleged Backstage Attack
In an official statement released on Instagram on Monday, December 22, 2025, Chocolate City detailed the incident. They stated it occurred in the early hours backstage at the Rhythm Unplugged concert in Lagos.
The label identified the staff member as Feyi Ajayi. According to their account, Odumodublvck, whose real name is Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, confronted Ajayi while he was with another artist. The rapper is alleged to have made threats against the label and its leadership before headbutting Ajayi without provocation.
Chocolate City further claims that eyewitnesses saw Odumodublvck and members of his team pour drinks on Ajayi while shouting abuse. The situation was reportedly de-escalated by a bodyguard. The label confirmed that Ajayi was hospitalized and is receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the altercation.
Feud with Blaqbonez Cited as Motive
Chocolate City directly linked the alleged assault to the ongoing and highly publicized rivalry between Odumodublvck and their signed artist, Blaqbonez (Emeka Akumafule). The label described the dispute, which began as a rap beef, as having escalated into a pattern of harassment.
The company listed several past hostile encounters in locations including Lagos, Uyo, and at a fashion event in England. They also made the startling allegation that Odumodublvck sent over 100 threatening messages to Blaqbonez and other label affiliates, some of which reportedly targeted family members and colleagues.
"While rap rivalries are a common part of hip-hop, acts of physical violence, stalking, verbal abuse, and intimidation are completely unacceptable," the label stated in their release.
Legal Action and Industry Repercussions
Chocolate City has taken formal steps following the incident. They confirmed that the alleged assault has been reported to the authorities and that they will pursue all necessary legal avenues to protect their staff and artists.
The label also issued a call to action for the wider entertainment industry. They urged event organizers and stakeholders to improve security measures at live shows and to adopt a firm stance against any form of violence.
This is not the first legal trouble of this nature for Odumodublvck. He is separately facing a lawsuit from rapper Kraziecent over an alleged assault at a public event in December 2024, where damages to property and emotional distress are being claimed.
As of the latest reports, representatives for Odumodublvck have not issued any public comment regarding Chocolate City's allegations. The situation has sparked significant discussion online, with fans and observers debating the claims and calling for evidence and peaceful resolution within the Nigerian music scene.
