Activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has publicly offered to advocate for the release of embattled Nigerian entertainer DJ Chicken, while making a startling allegation against Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu. In a post on X, Sowore called on anyone with access to DJ Chicken's family to contact him, stating he was willing to challenge what he described as excessive charges filed by the Nigerian Police.
Sowore Offers Legal Advocacy for DJ Chicken
DJ Chicken was arrested and imprisoned after making remarks online targeting Seyi Tinubu and his father. Sowore argued that the entertainer should not spend a day behind bars, emphasizing his entitlement to liberty under the law. “I want to help get DJ Chicken out of prison because I do not believe he deserves to spend a day behind bars; he is entitled to his liberty under the law,” Sowore wrote.
Grave Allegation Against Seyi Tinubu
Beyond defending DJ Chicken, Sowore escalated the conversation by accusing Seyi Tinubu of transporting young women on private jets to Abuja for drug-fueled parties. He argued that Seyi Tinubu, not DJ Chicken, deserves legal consequences. “It is Seyi Tinubu who ships young ladies on private jets to Abuja, who are drugged in bedroom-crazed parties in Abuja, who needs to be in prison,” Sowore wrote, closing with “Revolution now.”
Broader Criticism of Tinubu Administration
Sowore framed the DJ Chicken case as part of a pattern by the Tinubu administration, accusing the government of using prosecutorial power to target young Nigerians instead of creating opportunities for them.
Mixed Reactions Online
The post stirred strong opinions. Some users backed Sowore: @officialdbg commented, “Do you see power in his writings? He speaks very honestly and doesn't apologize for speaking fact.” @emkhizz_official reacted, “So Seyi na Pimp? Wow. We don catch am.” Others warned Sowore could worsen DJ Chicken's situation: @loyal_ratel said, “You wan spoil dj chicken life be that.” @official_barbashop wrote, “Sowore go send chicken go pr!son while trying to prove a faceless point.”
Previous Defense by Verydarkman
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that activist Verydarkman also defended DJ Chicken, stating authorities wasted their time arresting him over the threat. Verydarkman acknowledged the comments were criminal but insisted the creator posed no real danger.
