Tracy Ohiri has sent an urgent plea to Bose Ogulu, mother of Nigerian singer Burna Boy, urging her to intervene in her son's growing friendship with activist Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM). Ohiri, a businesswoman and fellow Delta indigene, voiced her concerns in a video circulating online, appealing to Ogulu as a mother and manager.
Ohiri's Appeal to Bose Ogulu
In the video, Ohiri directly addressed Ogulu, praising her for managing Burna Boy's career with fewer scandals than many other artists. However, she warned that the friendship with VDM could pose a risk. "This is an appeal to you as a mother. Save your son from Martins. One thing I admire and respect about you is how you have managed your son to the extent that he has had fewer scandals than many other singers in the industry. It shows you are a good manager. But regarding his relationship with VDM, please use wisdom to disconnect it," Ohiri said.
Why Ohiri Warns Against VDM
Ohiri claimed that VDM is "very porous and leaks" information, describing him as a manipulator who has betrayed former friends. She alleged that VDM attempted to get close to Davido but failed, and even claimed he was a reason Davido moved his wedding to Miami, after trying to embarrass the singer during his traditional wedding. Ohiri also stated that VDM initially speaks positively about people while benefiting from them, but later turns against them and damages their reputation.
"He knows how to damage people's reputations. Tell your son not to discuss his family or business deals with him," Ohiri advised. She further alleged that VDM wants to be in Burna Boy's position and made additional claims about his intentions toward the singer's career.
Background of the Friendship
Burna Boy and VDM have grown close since the singer donated money to VDM's non-governmental organisation (NGO). The pair were recently seen in a video exchanging banter, sparking reactions online. Ohiri's warning comes amid this growing bond.

The video drew mixed reactions from social media users. @iamadeniji003 commented, "Too late. He will definitely boast about how he will make sure his music is not acceptable in Nigeria by Nigerians anymore." @emenikegodfather092 predicted, "I understand her point. One day, VDM will call him out. Just watch."
