OPM Apostle Chibuzor Reveals Untold Adoption Story of Autistic Son

In a recent interview, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), shared the heartfelt and previously untold story of how he adopted his autistic son, Aboy. This revelation comes amid a wave of social media controversy following Aboy's wedding, which has sparked intense public debate and scrutiny.

Controversy Surrounds Wedding of Autistic Son

The marriage between Aboy and his bride went viral online, igniting heated discussions among observers. While many expressed joy over the union, others raised questions about the arrangement, particularly after the bride disclosed post-wedding that she is a mother of three and her children's father is deceased. Monetary and other significant gifts were reportedly awarded to the woman for agreeing to marry Aboy, adding to the controversy.

How Aboy Became Apostle Chibuzor's Son

In an interview with popular interviewer Lucky Udu, Apostle Chibuzor detailed the circumstances of Aboy's adoption. He explained that Aboy was abandoned at his gate, a situation he described as not uncommon, with many children left there over time. After the police were involved, Aboy was taken to a motherless baby home, but he was rejected, forcing Apostle Chibuzor to take him back and care for him.

Apostle Chibuzor stated: "He was abandoned by my gate. A lot of children have been abandoned by my gate. So when he was abandoned, I invited the police and the police took him to a motherless baby home where they rejected him, so I have to accept him back."

He further described Aboy's condition, noting that he is non-verbal, unable to speak or understand, and requires assistance with daily tasks like bathing. This led Apostle Chibuzor to commit to his care, stating he had no other choice but to provide for him.

Extensive Adoption Efforts and Funding

When asked about the number of children he has adopted, Apostle Chibuzor revealed that he has taken in up to 500 children. He disclosed that he funds their care using tithes and offerings from his church, emphasizing his dedication to supporting vulnerable individuals.

His words on funding: "From tithe and offering people contribute from church."

This disclosure highlights the pastor's ongoing humanitarian efforts, which have now gained renewed attention due to the recent wedding events. The interview has provided a deeper context to the story, shifting focus from the controversy to the compassionate actions behind Aboy's adoption.

As discussions continue online, Apostle Chibuzor's account offers a personal perspective on the challenges and responsibilities involved in caring for individuals with special needs, amidst broader societal debates about marriage and support systems.
