Cancer Patient and Daughter in Lagos Urgently Seek Financial Aid for Treatment

A breast cancer patient, Mrs. Folashade Balogun, and her young daughter are in desperate need of financial support from the public and humanitarian agencies to cover their escalating medical expenses. Mrs. Balogun, who has been diagnosed with Stage 4 invasive carcinoma of the breast, is currently undergoing treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). She resides at Plot 9, Ola Jesu Close, Kampala, Olambe, and was previously employed as a teacher in a private school in Olambe, Akute, Ogun State.

Medical Challenges and Treatment Costs

Mrs. Balogun has already undergone eight chemotherapy sessions, each costing over N200,000, and relies on supplements to boost her immunity and pain relief drugs. She was scheduled for a surgical operation last year, but it was delayed due to a strike in the health sector, with the estimated cost of the surgery now at N6 million.

Additionally, her 20-month-old daughter, Ademola Oluwatiresimi Tabitha, is undergoing an MRI Rhabdomyosarcoma biopsy test for a large tumor growing behind her left thigh. Tabitha is receiving medical care at the Federal Orthopedic Hospital, Igbobi, Yaba, Lagos, and the results of her biopsy test are pending.

Family Financial Strain

The husband, Mr. Oyinade Ademola, who works as a teacher in a private school located in Opic along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, is the sole breadwinner for their family of four, including his wife and two daughters. Despite some support from relatives, friends, and employers, the financial burden of treating both the mother and the baby is overwhelming for him to handle alone.

The family is actively soliciting financial assistance to cover the medical treatments for both Mrs. Balogun and her daughter. Mr. Ademola Oyinade and his wife, Afolashade, can be contacted at 0703 118 4994 and 08064498817. Financial assistance can also be made to Oyinade Ademola’s Sterling Bank Account number 0075400670.
