OneBarrow International Limited will convene policymakers, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders at the 2026 National Health Equity Conference to address the persistent gap between health policy formulation and implementation in Nigeria.

Scheduled for October 13 to 15 at the Nigeria National Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja, the conference is themed, “From Policy to Impact: Care Coordination as the Core Engine of Health Equity.” According to a press release signed by Maryam Amin, PR Consultant for OneBarrow International Limited, the event will provide a platform for stakeholders to examine practical measures for translating health policies into improved healthcare access, quality and continuity of care.
The conference is expected to bring together policymakers, legislators, healthcare regulators, development partners, professional bodies, healthcare practitioners, private-sector leaders, civil society organisations, patient and community groups, and academic institutions.

The Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, will serve as Chief Host, while the Chairman of the House Committee on Health Services, Hon. Amos Gwamna Magaji, and the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, are expected to attend as Special Guests of Honour.

A major area of discussion will be the relationship between care coordination and health equity, particularly in addressing disparities faced by underserved communities and people experiencing difficulties navigating the healthcare system. The organisers said technology, data and citizen participation would also feature prominently at the conference.
They said digital feedback mechanisms, transparency, access to information and increased awareness of patients’ rights could strengthen accountability and make healthcare services more responsive to citizens. Ajao further called for greater citizen participation in discussions around healthcare quality and accountability, saying citizens should have meaningful channels to provide feedback on the services they receive.

The conference will culminate in a post-conference communiqué and practical implementation roadmap containing recommendations and commitments aimed at supporting policy implementation and deepening collaboration across the healthcare sector.
