Political analyst Donald Okwuosa has stated that the joint ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso projects a ray of hope for Nigerians ahead of the 2027 presidential elections. According to Okwuosa, if the duo had worked together in 2023, they would have been preparing for a second term by now.
Obi-Kwankwaso Ticket Could Unseat Tinubu
Okwuosa said that Obi and Kwankwaso are two visionary leaders with proven records of good governance and integrity. He argued that their joint ticket would likely unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu if the 2027 election is conducted fairly. Both candidates performed relatively well in the 2023 presidential polls despite being first-time contenders and lacking a strong political structure.
“I dare to say that with this new alliance between these two political gladiators, the Jagaban should be packing his luggage already to leave Aso Rock come May 29, 2027,” Okwuosa said during an exclusive chat with our correspondent.
Kwankwaso's Influence in Northern States
According to Okwuosa, Kwankwaso remains highly revered in Kano state, while Obi is the biggest political export from the southeast. He noted that Obi had already penetrated the North Central region, winning the Federal Capital Territory flawlessly in the 2023 election. Kwankwaso's alliance could help synergize the northwest to align with the Obi-Kwankwaso movement, fully penetrating states like Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Sokoto.
Analyst Predicts 2027 Election Outcome
Okwuosa predicted a favorable outcome for the Obi-Kwankwaso alliance in the 2027 presidential election. He said Atiku Abubakar may hold sway over about 40 percent of votes from the northeast and 30 percent from the northwest. In contrast, the Obi-Kwankwaso alliance is expected to secure about 50 percent of votes from the northwest and 30 percent from the northeast.
“The southeast and south-south are already a win for Obi-Kwankwaso, while votes from the southwest would be divided between Jagaban and Obi-Kwankwaso. The north central is already Obidient. From all permutations, if a free and fair presidential election is allowed, Jagaban might not get up to a million votes,” Okwuosa added.
Prophet Shares Prophecy on 2027 Election Winner
In contrast, Prophet Samson Okafor has tipped President Tinubu to win the upcoming 2027 presidential election. At least 90 million people are eligible to vote in Africa's largest democracy, with many Nigerians hoping their leader would tackle insecurity and economic challenges. The Nigerian opposition aims to mount a strong challenge to President Tinubu in the January 2027 elections.
What Obi and Kwankwaso Reportedly Agreed To Do
Ibrahim Abdulkarim disclosed that Obi is committed to a one-term presidency to facilitate a long-term political transition. Supporters are discussing a succession plan for Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to ensure continuity after Obi's term. Abdulkarim emphasized a focus on governance reforms and building a strong institutional foundation beyond election victories.
