RCCG Youth Lead Outreach, Demand Action on Kidnapping

In a significant shift towards nurturing tomorrow's leaders today, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Divine Assembly in Alapere has concluded its annual "The Priceless Gift" community outreach for 2025. The event seamlessly blended community social responsibility (CSR) with practical youth leadership development, marking a bold step in decentralising church programmes.

Youth Take Centre Stage in Outreach Management

Breaking from the traditional model where clergy direct activities, the 2025 edition was entirely managed and executed by the church's junior members. Under the mentorship of MC Isaac, teenagers and children took on key operational roles. Student representatives like Isaac Babalola and Borke Oghenetega spearheaded the programme, which featured choreography, worship sessions, and Bible readings.

The outreach had a tangible philanthropic impact, with 500 gift packs and school bags distributed to children in the local community. This act of giving served as a real-world case study in project management and compassionate leadership for the young organisers.

Training "Shining Lights" for Societal Impact

Deaconess Bukola Oladejo, Head of the Students’ Department and Junior Church, clarified the ministry's long-term vision. She stated that the objective is to produce "shining lights" equipped to excel in the professional world and eventually guide society. "The goal is to train them for excellence today so they can lead society tomorrow," Oladejo emphasised.

The event transcended mere gift distribution, evolving into a platform for civic engagement and advocacy. Seizing the opportunity, student leaders Daramola Oluwanifemi and Emmanuel Olurotimi issued a formal plea to government policymakers. They called for intensified measures to protect students from the escalating threat of kidnapping and urged that child welfare be prioritised in the upcoming 2026 fiscal budget.

A Call to Mothers as Nation-Builders

Adding weight to the youth's advocacy, Pastor Victoria Obayemi, wife of the National Overseer Emeritus, delivered a keynote address. She urged mothers to fully embrace their pivotal roles as "nation-builders," highlighting the foundational importance of family and moral guidance in shaping a secure and prosperous future for Nigeria.

The successful execution of "The Priceless Gift" outreach on 31 December 2025 by RCCG Divine Assembly Alapere demonstrates a powerful model for youth development. It combines hands-on leadership experience, community service, and social advocacy, preparing a new generation to tackle both local needs and national challenges.
