Court Adjourns Blessing CEO's Fraud Case to March 2025

The Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned the trial of Blessing CEO, a popular socialite and relationship therapist, to March 6, 2025, over an alleged N36 million fraud. The case, which has drawn significant public attention, involves accusations that Blessing CEO defrauded a woman identified as Mrs. Oluchi Nwafor.

Details of the Alleged Fraud

According to the charge sheet, Blessing CEO, whose real name is Blessing Okoro, allegedly collected N36 million from Mrs. Nwafor under the pretext of helping her invest in a business venture. The prosecution claims that the defendant failed to deliver on the promised investment and instead converted the funds to personal use. The alleged offense violates Section 419 of the Criminal Code Act, which deals with obtaining money under false pretenses.

Court Proceedings and Adjournment

At the resumed hearing on Tuesday, the prosecution counsel, Barrister Chukwudi Okafor, informed the court that they were ready to proceed but requested a short adjournment to allow for the service of additional evidence on the defense. The defense counsel, Barrister Emeka Nwosu, did not object to the adjournment. Consequently, Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo adjourned the case to March 6, 2025, for trial.
