Two Women Abducted in Abuja Rescued After Being Dumped on Kaduna Expressway
Abuja-Kaduna Expressway Abduction: Two Women Rescued

In a harrowing incident that highlights the persistent security challenges on major highways, the Niger State Police Command has successfully rescued two young women who were abducted in the Federal Capital Territory and later abandoned on the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.

Police Intervention and Discovery

The rescue operation was initiated on December 21, 2025, around 11:45 AM, following a critical alert from the Bakin-Iku Police post. Police spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed in an official statement that the two victims from Kubwa, Abuja, were sighted lying helplessly by the roadside. They showed suspected blood stains on their bodies, prompting immediate action.

A patrol team from the Maje Division swiftly reinforced the police post and evacuated the victims. They were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention, where they were stabilized and eventually made a full recovery from their ordeal.

Details of the Abduction

During interviews with the police, the victims recounted the terrifying sequence of events that began on December 15, 2025. They had left their home in Kubwa, heading to Gwarimpa, when they boarded a private vehicle with three male occupants.

Tragically, upon entering the car, the men sprayed a chemical substance on them, causing the women to lose consciousness. When they awoke, they were blindfolded and found themselves in an unknown location, having been taken captive.

Failed Ransom and Abandonment

The kidnappers, described as hoodlums, held the women for several days. All attempts by the criminals to extract ransom payments from the victims' families proved unsuccessful. Frustrated by their failure, the abductors decided to dispose of the women.

They transported the victims on a motorcycle to the Abuja-Kaduna expressway, where they were heartlessly dumped. Before abandoning them, the assailants took all their personal belongings. The police statement confirmed that the women were left on the road with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

SP Wasiu Abiodun assured the public that the incident is under active investigation. He also confirmed that following their medical recovery, the two victims have been safely reunited with their relieved families.
