Imo Seals Hotel, Mortuary Over Kidnapping, Organ Harvesting

The Imo State Government has taken decisive action by sealing a hotel and a private mortuary located in the Umuhu Autonomous Community within Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area. The facilities are alleged to have been used as operational bases by kidnappers and other violent criminals terrorizing the area.

Grisly Discovery During Police Inspection

This drastic measure followed a shocking discovery made on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Acting on credible intelligence, a high-powered delegation led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, conducted an inspection of the suspected criminal hideouts.

The team included notable figures such as the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Chioma Egu, the Chief Pathologist of Imo State Specialist Hospital, Dr. Ibeaja Okechukwu, and the Chairman of Ngor Okpala LGA, Hon. Mrs. Chika Ibekwe. They were joined by members of the local vigilante group led by Mr. Henry Ikpe.

Decomposed Corpses Point to Organ Harvesting

During the inspection of the private mortuary, officials made a horrifying find. They discovered decomposed and mutilated corpses stored in utterly unhygienic conditions. The state of the bodies immediately raised strong suspicions of illegal organ-harvesting activities being conducted at the location.

The hotel and mortuary are both owned by a suspect identified as Stanley Morocco Oparaugo, who is currently at large. Authorities also searched his residence, where crucial exhibits were recovered. Forensic experts were on hand to properly document and secure all evidence from the scenes.

Manhunt Launched, Security Boosted

In response to the findings, the state government directed the immediate sealing of both the hotel and the mortuary. The police have officially declared Stanley Morocco Oparaugo WANTED and have appealed to the public for assistance.

CP Aboki Danjuma assured residents that a thorough investigation is underway to identify and prosecute all accomplices involved in the criminal enterprise. He urged anyone with useful information to contact the nearest police station or call the dedicated line: 0803 477 3600.

Furthermore, to reassure the public, especially during the festive season, the police command has announced the deployment of maximum security along the Owerri–Aba Expressway. This road has been a known hotspot for kidnappings and other violent crimes. The command has pledged its commitment to ensuring the safety of all travelers.
