President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over a crucial high-level security meeting at the State House in Abuja, bringing together Nigeria's top military and intelligence leaders. The closed-door meeting includes the nation's highest-ranking security officials, all appointed by President Tinubu in October 2025 as part of his administration's efforts to strengthen Nigeria's security framework. The attendees include Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Army Staff Major General Waidi Shaibu, and Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral Idi Abbas.

Earlier on Sunday, President Tinubu confirmed significant successes in recent rescue operations. Through his verified X handle @officialABAT, the President announced that all 38 worshippers abducted from Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State, have been safely rescued following coordinated security efforts.
The President personally supervised these operations after canceling his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. "You will recall that I cancelled my trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to enable me to coordinate the security efforts at home," Tinubu stated in his social media post.
In another development, the President confirmed the recovery of 51 students abducted from a Catholic school in Niger State, emphasizing that he continues to receive real-time updates from field commanders across various operational theaters.
New Security Strategy in the Making
Sunday's high-level meeting focuses on reviewing ongoing military operations nationwide and assessing current troop deployments. Security chiefs are expected to develop new strategies to enhance counter-terrorism efforts and improve coordination among different security services.
