Two Kidnapping Suspects Arrested in Adamawa

Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have successfully apprehended two individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping activities within the Sarau Belel community.

Threats Lead to Swift Police Action

The arrest was triggered by a formal complaint lodged on December 26, 2025. The complainant, Mr. Emmanuel Daniel from Sagal Village, Sarau Belel, reported to the police that he was receiving threats of abduction. The two men threatening him allegedly confessed to being responsible for the kidnapping of his younger brother, Joshua Daniel, which occurred back in November 2024.

Coordinated Operation Yields Arrests

Upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, Mr. Dankombo Morris, mandated an immediate response. A coordinated operation was swiftly executed by operatives under the leadership of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Sarau Belel. This operation culminated in the arrest of the two suspects.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sunday Yakubu, 36, and Daniel Yakubu, 38. Both men are residents of Konjoli Village in Maiha Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Suspects Confess, Case Transferred for Prosecution

Police sources indicate that during interrogation, the two suspects confessed to the allegations leveled against them. They are currently cooperating with investigators by providing useful information to aid further inquiries into their activities and possible networks.

In a decisive move to ensure justice, Commissioner Dankombo Morris has directed the Command's Anti-Kidnapping Unit to take over the case. This transfer is aimed at facilitating a comprehensive investigation and ensuring the diligent prosecution of the suspects in line with the provisions of the law.
