Igboho Awaits Federal Nod to Dislodge Terrorists in South-West

Yoruba nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has stated that he is awaiting approval from the Federal Government to begin operations aimed at dislodging terrorists and other criminal elements from the South-West region of Nigeria.

Igboho, who leads the Iru Ekun Security Network, announced that his security outfit is fully prepared to commence efforts to rid forests across the South-West of terrorists, kidnappers, bandits, and other hoodlums. He made this known in a statement released on Monday, May 25.

According to Igboho, all necessary documentation and procedural requirements for the approval of Iru Ekun Security Network have already been submitted to the Federal Government. He emphasized that his organization is ready to collaborate with law enforcement agencies, including the police, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other stakeholders in the security sector.

Igboho also noted that he would fully comply with the Executive Order recently issued by the Oyo State Government, which regulates the activities of private security organizations operating within the state. He expressed confidence that the Federal Government would grant the approval soon.

In his statement, Igboho said: “We have submitted all the required documents for our registered security firm, Iru Ekun Security Network, and are only waiting for the Federal Government approval which will be granted soon. We are absolutely ready to collaborate with the police, DSS, Nigeria Army, NSCDC, and other relevant stakeholders in the security sector to flush out terrorists, kidnappers, bandits, and other hoodlums, who are threatening the peace and safety of our people, most especially in rural communities.”
