FRSC confirms incident
Confirming the incident, the FRSC Public Education Officer in Plateau State, Peter Longsan, said police officers arrived at the scene before FRSC personnel and evacuated the bodies. The corpses were deposited at the Plateau State Specialists Hospital. FRSC officials later cleared the road to ensure free flow of traffic.
Cause of crash
The FRSC attributed the crash to reckless driving and excessive speeding. Longsan stated, "The crash could be attributed to dangerous driving and excessive speeding, and we are calling on motorists to avoid excessive speeding." He explained that many trailer drivers now use a bypass after being restricted from roads within Jos metropolis, but often drive recklessly on the route. He urged motorists using the bypass to adhere strictly to speed limits to avoid endangering other road users.
Family mourns
Grieving family members, friends, and sympathizers have mourned the brothers, describing the incident as painful and devastating.
