Vigilante groups foil Ogbomoso power substation robbery

Local vigilante groups in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, have successfully foiled an attempted robbery targeting the newly installed 132KVA power substation located at Temidire/Ajeja along the Ikirun Road axis of the town. The incident occurred when suspected robbers, armed with dangerous weapons and electrical tools, invaded the facility in an attempt to vandalise and steal critical components of the power installation.

Swift Intervention by Vigilantes

According to community sources, the suspects had already commenced their operation before members of the local vigilante groups, acting on a tip-off, stormed the area and disrupted the mission. Upon sighting the vigilante operatives, the hoodlums reportedly fled the scene, narrowly escaping arrest. However, they abandoned some of the tools and equipment brought for the operation.

A member of the vigilante group, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the incident and praised the swift intervention of the local security outfit, which prevented what could have caused major damage to the power infrastructure.
