A prominent Turkish football commentator, Ahmet Cakar, has outlined the sole condition under which Galatasaray should consider parting ways with Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. The forward, who joined the Turkish giants permanently in July 2025 for a record €75 million, has been at the center of transfer rumors despite signing a four-year contract.
Osimhen's Impact at Galatasaray
Since his arrival, Osimhen has been instrumental in Galatasaray's success, helping the club secure two consecutive league titles and guiding them to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. His performances have attracted interest from top European clubs, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Recently, Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle sparked controversy by suggesting that Osimhen was excused from national team duties due to his desire to join a new club. However, both parties denied the claim, with Osimhen releasing a statement on Instagram clarifying that his manager's words were misinterpreted.
Cakar's Stance on Osimhen's Transfer
In an interview with Haber Sari Kirmizi, Cakar emphasized that no player is unsellable but warned Galatasaray fans against becoming too attached. He stated that selling Osimhen for anything less than €130 million would be a financial loss for the club.
“There is no football player in the world who cannot be sold. Osimhen cost Galatasaray around €75 million. If they sell him for €90 or €100 million, I would say they made a mistake. However, if they receive an offer of €130 million and do not sell him, they would be fools. That would represent a profit, and they would have also benefited from his services for a year after acquiring his transfer rights,” Cakar explained.
Galatasaray's Asking Price
Journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu confirmed that Barcelona has been monitoring Osimhen for some time. He revealed that Galatasaray President Dursun Ozbek has set a firm asking price of €140 million and is unwilling to negotiate below that figure.
“Barcelona has been following Victor Osimhen for a long time, but Galatasaray is demanding a net transfer fee of €140 million. Dursun Ozbek will not accept any offer below that amount,” Sabuncuoglu reported via GS Gazete.
Another potential obstacle is Osimhen's substantial annual salary of €21 million net, which many clubs may find prohibitive. Despite the speculation, Osimhen has reportedly urged Galatasaray to strengthen the squad to enhance their competitiveness in the Champions League.
