NLNG Renews Commitment to Media Capacity Building with Strategic Workshop
Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has reinforced its drive for capacity building through the successful conclusion of its #NLNGChangeYourStory workshop in Abuja. The three-day strategic training program, which wrapped up on Wednesday, provided valuable insights and practical skills to thirty-two journalists from various media organizations across the country.
Enhancing Professionalism in a Digital Era
The workshop focused on the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence and digital communication in modern newsrooms. Through hands-on sessions and expert-led discussions, participants explored how to effectively deploy new media tools for real-time reporting, expand audience reach beyond borders, and foster meaningful engagement across multiple platforms.
Sophia Horsfall, General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development at NLNG, reaffirmed the company's focus on capacity development as a key pillar of its Corporate Social Responsibility program. "The #NLNGChangeYourStory initiative continues to equip journalists with the skills and confidence needed to produce professional media content in an increasingly fast-paced and technology-driven media environment," she stated.
Practical Training for Real-World Challenges
Anne-Marie Palmer-Ikuku, Manager of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at NLNG, emphasized that the workshop moved beyond theory to address practical challenges. "This training addressed the real pressures of a digital newsroom, including speed, verification, audience trust, and relevance. Our support for these competencies aims to strengthen a resilient media ecosystem that produces accurate, impactful journalism," she explained.
The workshop was facilitated by digital communication specialist Dan Mason and the Journalism Clinic led by respected media veteran Taiwo Obe. Together, they guided participants through:
