Morocco has removed visa requirements for citizens of 11 African countries, allowing them to enter and stay for up to 90 days. The list was published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Moroccan government's website.
Eligible African Countries
The full list of African countries whose citizens can travel to Morocco without a visa includes: Algeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Ivory Coast, Congo, Gabon, Guinea, Senegal, Tunisia, and Togo.
Citizens of these countries are permitted to enter Morocco for tourism, business, or other purposes without obtaining a visa beforehand. The policy aims to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties with fellow African nations.
Broader Visa-Free Policy
In addition to these African countries, Morocco also grants visa-free access to citizens of several non-African nations. The complete list is available on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' official portal.
This move is part of Morocco's effort to boost tourism and facilitate easier movement for travelers from partner countries.
Comparison with Other Countries
Similar visa-free policies exist elsewhere. For instance, Belgium allows visa-free entry only for citizens of Mauritius and Seychelles from Africa. Greece also permits visa-free access solely to Mauritius and Seychelles, with a maximum stay of 90 days.
Morocco's list is notably more inclusive, covering 11 African nations, reflecting its commitment to regional integration.
