Visa Conditions and Coverage

The eVisa grants a one-year multiple-entry permit, allowing holders to stay in Saudi Arabia for up to 90 days per visit. The visa covers tourism activities, including leisure travel, visits to family and relatives, attendance at events, and Umrah pilgrimages. However, it does not cover Hajj or academic study.

According to the Saudi authorities, the eVisa is part of a broader push to attract international tourists to the kingdom's diverse landscapes, from the mountain terrain of Abha and the Red Sea coastline to the desert expanse of the Empty Quarter. The kingdom has also emphasised its cultural heritage and hospitality as key draws for visitors.

Application Process

Travellers from eligible countries can complete the entire application process online before departure. The multiple-entry nature of the visa means holders are not restricted to a single trip during the one-year validity period, provided each individual stay does not exceed the 90-day limit.

As Victoria Nwahiri, the Human Interest Editor at Legit.ng, reported, the list was published with the aim of simplifying travel for European tourists. The announcement follows similar moves by other countries, such as Japan and China, which have also released their own visa eligibility lists for 2026.

Broader Context

Saudi Arabia's eVisa programme is part of the kingdom's Vision 2030 initiative to boost tourism and diversify its economy. The country has invested heavily in tourism infrastructure and marketing to attract visitors from around the world.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the United States government published a list of eight categories of people who qualify to apply for a Green Card, ranging from family ties to US citizenship and employment in specialised fields to refugee or asylum status and victims of abuse.
