Saudi Arabia Announces Tourism and Stopover Visa Fees and Requirements
The Saudi Arabian government has officially released the fees, eligibility criteria, and permitted stay durations for its tourism and stopover visas. This announcement aims to help foreign nationals plan their travel budgets and understand entry requirements before visiting the kingdom. The information covers two specific visa categories: the stopover visa and the tourism visa, excluding work, study, student, or business visas.
Stopover Visa Fees and Conditions
The stopover visa is free if booked through an airline, but applicants must pay a non-refundable application fee of USD 10.50 (approximately N14,473). Additionally, a medical insurance fee of USD 3.45 (N4,755.55) is charged, along with an identical digital service fee. The visa is valid for three months and permits a single entry, allowing travelers to stay in Saudi Arabia for up to 96 hours. According to the Saudi government, the stopover visa is automatically generated during the flight booking process and emailed to the traveler.
Tourism Visa Fees and Duration
The tourism visa fee is set at USD 80 (N110,275), plus a digital service fee of USD 10.50 (N14,473). The visa allows a stay of up to 90 days, and processing time ranges from one minute to three business days. Applicants must be at least 18 years old; those under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian. Other requirements include a valid passport, proper documentation, sufficient funds to cover expenses, and compliance with Saudi laws and rules.
Important Instructions for Applicants
The Saudi government emphasizes that the application fee is non-refundable. Travelers are advised to ensure they meet all eligibility criteria and have the necessary funds before applying. The visa fees are available on official Saudi government-recognized websites. This update does not cover work, study, or business visas, focusing solely on tourism and stopover travel.
