MUSWEN Urges Muslims to Uphold Righteous Deeds Beyond Ramadan
The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN), recognized as the apex regional body for Muslims in the South West zone, has issued a heartfelt call to the faithful to sustain the spirit of devotion and righteousness beyond the holy month of Ramadan. In a statement jointly signed by the President, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, and the Executive Secretary, Prof. Wole Abbas, to commemorate the Eid-el-Fitri celebrations, MUSWEN emphasized that the conclusion of fasting should not mark the end of the spiritual and moral transformation achieved during this sacred period.
Lifelong Guidance from Ramadan Virtues
MUSWEN highlighted that the virtues cultivated during Ramadan—such as discipline, self-denial, generosity, and intensified worship—are intended to serve as a lifelong guide for every believer. The group stressed that these practices are not merely seasonal rituals but foundational elements for continuous personal and communal growth. By integrating these principles into daily life, Muslims can foster a deeper connection with their faith and contribute positively to society.
Prayers for National Peace and Prosperity
Reflecting on the current state of the nation, MUSWEN urged Muslims to continue offering special prayers for peace, security, and economic prosperity in Nigeria. The statement underscored the importance of collective spiritual efforts in addressing national challenges, encouraging the community to remain steadfast in their supplications. "As we celebrate this joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitri, let us remember that the God we served during Ramadan is ever alive to reward our deeds throughout the year," the group added, reinforcing the message of ongoing divine recognition and support.
This call to action serves as a reminder for Muslims to carry forward the lessons of Ramadan, ensuring that the spiritual momentum gained during the holy month translates into lasting positive impacts on both individual lives and the broader Nigerian society.
