Pastors Muoka and Okupevi Urge Nigerians to Promote Peace and Imbibe Christ's Sacrifice
The General Overseer of The Lord's Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries Worldwide, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, has made a significant prediction regarding Nigeria's current situation. He asserts that if Nigerians wholeheartedly accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, the country's prevailing challenges will come to an end. This statement comes as the church prepares for a two-day special programme to mark Easter celebrations, scheduled for April 4 and 5, 2026, at its Revival Ground along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway in Lagos, starting at 8:00 a.m. daily.
Call for Peace and Love During Easter
In a move to inspire unity, Pastor Muoka has urged Nigerian Christians to use this year's Easter celebrations as an opportunity to promote peace and love across the nation. He emphasizes that this approach is the most genuine way to acknowledge and appreciate Jesus Christ's sacrifice for humanity. Through a statement titled 'God's Covenant of Peace and Blessing', issued by the Church's Director of Public Relations, Pastor Louis Chidi, Muoka highlighted the urgent need for peace in Nigeria, stating that the time for such peace is now.
Bishop Okupevi's Message on Sacrificial Leadership
Similarly, the Bishop of Lagos, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Ifedola Senasu Gabriel Okupevi, has called upon Nigerians and their leaders to emulate the sacrificial love demonstrated by Jesus Christ. He urges them to reflect virtues such as humility, service, and compassion in their interactions with fellow citizens. Okupevi, who delivered this charge in commemoration of the Easter celebrations, pointed out that the Cross serves as the highest model of leadership and service.
According to the bishop, true leadership is fundamentally rooted in love, humility, and selflessness, rather than the pursuit of personal gains. He stressed that Nigeria is in dire need of leaders who are willing to sacrifice for the common good and who actively pursue justice, accountability, and compassion in governance. Okupevi noted that the message of Good Friday remains profoundly relevant today, especially in light of the economic and social challenges facing the nation, including the rising cost of living, unemployment, insecurity, and growing uncertainty about the future.
Both religious leaders have underscored the importance of embracing Christ's teachings to foster a more harmonious and prosperous society, urging all citizens to contribute to peace and love during this Easter season.
