Sheikh Abdul Malik Advocates for Peace and Government Accountability During Sacred Night
In a deeply spiritual and moving gathering, thousands of Muslim faithful assembled at the Lutful-Lahi International prayer ground to observe the 2026 Lailatul Qadr, also known as the Night of Majesty. The event was marked by fervent supplications as believers sought divine blessings on a night described in the Holy Quran as surpassing a thousand months in spiritual value. The occasion was led by the esteemed founder of Lutful-Lahi International, Sheikh Mohammed Robiu Adebayo Abdul Malik, widely recognized as Baba L’oworo.
Divine Significance of Lailatul Qadr
Addressing journalists, Sheikh Abdul Malik highlighted the profound sacredness of the final ten days of Ramadan, emphasizing that this period is determined solely by divine will, not human reasoning. He noted that Lutful-Lahi has upheld a tradition of seeking this special night for more than five decades. "You cannot search for the Night of Majesty before the 21st day of Ramadan. It is a divine gift mentioned three times in the Quran, where any act of goodness yields rewards greater than a thousand years of worship," he explained. The Sheikh firmly stated, "Islam is fixed; no amount of modernization can alter its core tenets."
Reflections on National and Global Affairs
As he nears his 90th birthday, Sheikh Abdul Malik used the platform to reflect on Nigeria's current state and global issues. With elections on the horizon, he advised politicians to build a legacy rooted in genuine service. "Any politician should have a record of service that speaks for them," he remarked, urging leaders to prioritize public welfare over personal gain. Regarding ongoing conflicts worldwide, he dismissed notions that wars signal the end of times, attributing such strife to a lack of fear of God. He reminded attendees that God intended humanity to coexist peacefully, and as long as worship continues, the end is not imminent.
Promoting Peace and Coexistence
Expressing optimism, the 90-year-old cleric, who has witnessed significant infrastructural and social changes over decades, commended the current administration's efforts and called on Nigerians to foster peaceful coexistence. "The role of the cleric is not to interfere in politics, but to keep praying for the government and the country," he asserted, reinforcing the importance of spiritual support for national stability.
Spiritual Reset and Divine Grace
Alhaji Abdul Ganiu Agbaje, the newly appointed President of Lutful-Lahi, also addressed the gathering, describing the Night of Majesty as a divine grace bestowed upon humanity. He observed that Ramadan serves as a spiritual reset, during which Shaytan is restrained, prompting even those who seldom pray or fast to reconnect with their Creator. "Allah loves us; that is why He bestows this month upon us. We must use this opportunity to move closer to Him and seek the destiny He has written for us," Agbaje stated, encouraging believers to embrace this sacred time for personal and communal growth.
Concluding Prayers for National Prosperity
The event culminated with intensive prayers focused on national stability, economic success for the current administration, and personal breakthroughs for all attendees. This collective invocation underscored the community's hope for a harmonious and prosperous future, aligning with Sheikh Abdul Malik's calls for peace and government accountability.
