Boseman was posthumously awarded the 2,828th star on the iconic walkway. The ceremony was filled with poignant memories and heartfelt speeches from those who knew and loved him best. His wife, Simone Ledward-Boseman, encapsulated the collective feeling of loss and admiration, stating directly to her late husband, "We love you, we miss you." In a significant gesture, the day was officially declared "Chadwick Boseman Day" in Hollywood.
Emotional Tributes from Colleagues
Academy Award-winning actress Viola Davis, who starred alongside Boseman in his final film, "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom," delivered a powerful speech. She expressed her difficulty in accepting his passing, saying, "I have to believe that Chadwick is still alive. I can't use the word 'gone' or 'death' really when thinking about him." Davis reflected on their time on set, noting that his profound conversations about life and success felt like those of someone who knew his time was limited. She movingly concluded, "This star, as beautiful as it is on the Walk of Fame, shines a whole lot less brighter than Chadwick is in heaven."
