Morayo Brown Recounts Disturbing Caller Who Rained Curses On Her

Morayo Brown Opens Up About Disturbing Phone Call

Television host Morayo Brown has shared a troubling experience involving a phone call from an individual who rained curses on her over questions she asked guests during her interviews. The media personality, known for hosting The Morayo Show, took to social media on Friday, July 3, 2026, to recount the incident, which left her disturbed and questioning why someone would attack her for doing her job.

Brown, whose latest interview with actress Toyin Abraham went viral, revealed that the caller used several unprintable words and repeatedly cursed her. She stated, "I got a call from somebody who rained curses on me. She said so many other unprintable words." The host, who admitted she is not accustomed to such behavior as she did not grow up around people who curse, noted that she has learned over the years to ignore negative comments on social media.

Defending Her Profession and Experience

Expressing disappointment, Brown questioned, "What's my sin? The kind of questions I ask guests or the names I call during my interviews?" She maintained that asking questions is her job and defended her approach by highlighting her long-standing career in media. With 21 years in the industry and 12 years of hosting a daily television show from Monday to Friday, Brown insisted she has earned the right to ask difficult questions. According to Brown, only a handful of Nigerians possess such extensive experience.

She also emphasized that she always respects her guests' boundaries. Some guests prefer to receive questions beforehand, while others specify topics they do not wish to discuss. This approach, she noted, ensures a professional and respectful interview environment.

Context of Recent Interviews

Brown's comments come amid recent conversations about her interviews with prominent figures. During an appearance on The Morayo Show, veteran actress Ireti Doyle declined to speak about her divorce from actor Patrick Doyle, stating it was "none of your business." Additionally, Brown questioned Toyin Abraham about her reported rift with Funke Akindele, which sparked online discussions.

In response to Brown's video, Toyin Abraham commented, "I had so much positivity on the show, thanks for having me?? it's fine sis just kindly ignore her pls." Actor Deyemi Okanlawon also expressed support, saying, "I am so sorry about this lunacy. I totally appreciated how you saw immediately that I wasn't emotionally ready to give an answer and gracefully let it be." Another commenter, officialsholakosoko, wrote, "The curses turns to prayers for you cos you haven't done anything wrong. Reasoning is alien, and emotions is africa."

Previous Controversy Over Annie Idibia Comments

This is not the first time Morayo Brown has faced backlash. Earlier, she shared her views on 2baba dumping Annie Idibia and moving on to Edo lawmaker Natasha, which sparked an online debate. In a post, she penned words of encouragement to Annie Idibia, further fueling controversy.

Despite the attacks, Brown remains steadfast in her role as a media personality, continuing to host her show and engage with guests and audiences alike.
