A festive scene turned into a shocking spectacle when two men dressed as Santa Claus engaged in a physical brawl inside a busy supermarket. The incident, which was captured on video, left shoppers in disbelief.
Festive Spirits Turn Sour in Aisle
The unusual showdown took place at the Megastore supermarket in Baku, Azerbaijan. According to reports, the conflict began as a territorial dispute over which Santa had the right to spread Christmas cheer to children in that particular area of the store.
Both individuals were dressed in the Russian Father Christmas tradition, known as Ded Moroz or Grandfather Frost, complete with iconic long white beards. However, their outfits differed: one wore the classic red suit familiar in Western culture, while the other was clad in a white version.
Fruit and Festivities Sent Flying
The argument quickly escalated from words to shoving and pushing near the fruit and vegetable section. The scuffle was so intense that fruit and a small Christmas tree were sent flying across the aisle. A security guard attempted to step in and break up the fight, but the Santa in the red suit angrily shoved him away.
At one point during the altercation, one of the Father Christmases took a tumble to the floor but quickly got back up to continue the confrontation. The chaotic scene required the intervention of two burly security staff members dressed in black to finally separate the quarrelling pair.
Aftermath and Police Involvement
Local sources in Baku confirmed that fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the bizarre incident. One stunned onlooker described the fight, saying, "This was more like a mafia-style territorial dispute, over who gets which patch."
The matter did not end with security. Police later questioned both Santas about their public disagreement. The video of the fight quickly spread on social media, with users expressing a mix of amusement and shock at the undignified clash between the symbols of holiday generosity.
